Curious City: Where Kids & Books Meet is a small company formed in 2003 to create projects for authors, illustrators, and publishers that forge a stronger relationship between children and the literature created for them.
Curious City DPW (Department of Public Works) exists to offer the event kits, activity kits, curriculum, book trailers, book character-driven blogs, and other tools that Curious City creates free for your use. Each tool is designed to engage young readers in the written word with play, imagination, and real world applications. Tools can be located by subject or age group in the right column of the Home page.
Curious City is run by Kirsten Cappy, a children’s book programmer /consultant and Mark Mattos, a creative operations manager. Curious City is staffed, inspired, and advised by children’s book creators, educators, librarians, and other brilliant, creative folks.
